Lahore Qalandars new development program, Shaheen & Haris to be Hockey Ambassadors

On Wednesday, the Lahore Qalandars' CEO Atif Rana, PHF secretary Haider Hussain, and Sindh sports adviser Arbab Lutfullah officially launched the Qalandars players' development hockey program. The program aims to select 22 players in each city through open trials, and those selected will receive training at a high-performance center and have the opportunity to go abroad. Atif Rana discussed how the promotion of hockey has been a topic of discussion between him and the PHF secretary for the past two years. He also shared that the same model used in cricket will be implemented in hockey to find and groom young talent. The Lahore Qalandars will provide full support for this initiative to promote and uplift hockey, Atif assured. Fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf will serve as brand ambassadors for Karachi and Lahore's hockey teams, respectively. The program is open to players from across the country, with no restriction on domicile. The Sindh government has pledged to support the success of the Qalandar hockey development program.
